Introducing the Green Street Project: A Nancy Meyers–Inspired San Francisco Gem
We’re thrilled to finally pull back the curtain on one of our favorite projects to date — the Green Street pied-à-terre, nestled in the heart of San Francisco. Inspired by the warm, effortlessly elegant world of Nancy Meyers films, this home is a love letter to timeless charm and thoughtful restoration.
Our vision was clear from the start: bring the soul back to this classic 1929 apartment. With that in mind, we carefully restored the original limestone fireplace — a stunning focal point full of history — and reintroduced architectural details like crown molding and wainscoting that had been lost over the years. Every choice was made with the intention of honoring the building’s heritage while creating a space that feels fresh, cozy, and deeply inviting.
From plush furnishings to soft, layered textures, the interiors are a study in comfortable sophistication — the kind of place that makes you want to curl up with a book (and never leave).
The entryway: We added wainscoting, crown molding, and a chair ledge throughout the apartment to add charm back to the historic build.
The second bedroom: The goal was to have a room that functioned as an office space as well as a bedroom for the occasional guest. We designed a custom Murphy bed with surrounding bookshelves. Our client wanted this room to feel cozy, dark, and moody.
The second bedroom: Our client instantly fell in love with this checked fabric from Holland & Sherry so custom made this chaise lounge chair.
One of our favorite corners in the home is this cozy sitting nook, perfectly framed by a stunning view of Russian Hill. A small piece of art, thoughtfully centered within the wainscoting, adds just the right touch—it's the kind of detail that makes us melt. What we love most about this apartment is the effortless blend of old and new: the fresh addition of a modern loveseat and rich velvet blue pillow sits in beautiful contrast with the original radiator, classic wainscoting, and elegant crown molding.
